This is an especially funky version, with inspiration
from Mike in the form of a light-hearted take on the
lyrics.  He plays around with them, annunciating
stuff oddly.  The soloing from Trey in the tramps
segment, and later in the jam, is really nice -- no
typical off-key sustain crap in this version,
really.  He is out front in the mix, leading, and
wailing.  It is very solid, but the jam after the
5:15 point or so isn't at all remarkable (I thought
that it would be, given Trey's opening prowess,
alas..).  H2 kicks in at 7:50 or so, and lasts for
the usual 3:05 or so.  It is beautiful as always.
Weekapaug is really upbeat, as these 1993 versions
tend to be, but otherwise not special in the
beginning except for a "That's right" from Mike after
one of the 'sharin in the groove' lyrics.  This
version is very good, but it doesn't really get
interesting until 7 mins or so, at which point it
drops into a really cool, jazzy mode, which has a lot
of stuff from everyone (Fish keeps the groove
going).  Page really wails after the 10 min point (10
minutes of this Weekapaug).  They start and stop
together a few times, too, which is a welcome change
(well, Fish and Trey stop together, while Page and
Mike stay on track).  It is frankly a soaring groove
at this point.  This somewhat light, jazzy jam never
leaves the standard Weekapaug rhythm, but it builds
and builds until it explodes into a Week pre-final
verse finale jam at 21:20 or so.  The finale jam is
great, as usual, but what is surprising is that they
vocal jam-out the ending in an especially goofy way!
This has got to be one of the longest straight
Mikes-> Hydrogen-> Grooves I've reviewed to date, or
damn close to it.  They still play instruments
through this vocal jamming (lightly!).  HYHU segues
right out of this Week at around 17:45, which is to
say that this Weekapaug BY ITSELF was longer than
many old MikesHydroGrooves, folks.  Total time is
25:30 or so.  I have to give it a B/B+ rating, which
should suggest to you rather clearly why I have
changed the 'ole rating system.
